Music at Legacy Ale Works
At Legacy, we LOVE live music and love to host events that involve music. Jacksonville has a tremendous base of talented musicians and we do our best to “spread the love”. If you’re interested in playing for us, please read on and submit an inquiry below to be added to our database of performers.
We host live music every Friday night from 7-9pm. Our budget for “Friday Night Live” music is $150 - typically just a solo performer. However, we occasionally host other events throughout the year that include larger budgets for duo’s, trios and in some cases, full bands. Here is some additional information regarding live music at Legacy:
Our events are “rain or shine”. If music was scheduled outside in our open-air courtyard, we will always have an indoor backup location.
Many of our regular performances take place indoors. We have neighbors and thin walls, so groups/bands who can control volume output easily (including those with electric drums) are preferred.
When we reach out regarding booking an event, we will tell you our budget for music (if we have one). We respect your rate and will not haggle you. However, if your rate exceeds our budget, we may not be able to book you or your group.
Legacy pays for and is in full compliance and holds active licenses for live music with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.
All gigs booked come with a reasonable house tab credit for beer or wine. We ask that performers not abuse this benefit.
If you are paid an excess of $600 in a year (whether by cash, check or electronic method) you will receive a 1099. We will request a W-9 from you.
We work hard to market our events. We expect you to do the same. This includes posting on social media and tagging Legacy in any marketing you do. Groups/Bands who have a following & bring in customers will have a greater likelihood of being invited back. Similarly, those who make no effort to market their gigs may not be invited back.
If, for some reason, you cannot attend a paid gig at Legacy, we expect you to work with us to find a similar replacement. We get it, things happen, but leaving us “high and dry” is a sure way not to be invited back.
We will provide access to power (whether you perform indoors or out). We do not have any equipment so you will need to bring whatever you need to perform.
