Ever felt overwhelmed by a taproom’s list of 23 different beers and beer styles? Or maybe you just want a better understanding of why there are so many different styles and how they differ from each other. This class will be an introduction to beer styles and how to choose what your next flight will be. We will also discuss how to recognize good or bad beer service. During the class, you will taste beers from a variety of styles.

The magic of beer, in all of it’s grand variety of colors, flavors, aromas and styles, comes from four simple ingredients: grains, hops, yeast, and water. You will learn how each of these ingredients can have such a complex and varied impact on a beer. During the class, you will taste beers that emphasize distinct flavors or aromas from grains, hops, or yeast.

This class will be an overview of how to make beer, covering everything from creating a recipe to drinking the beer. We will discuss preparations for brew day, all phases of the brewing process, and the fermentation and finishing of the beer. The class will also include beer tastings and a tour of our brewery.

Elevate your beer drinking and learn how to taste beer like a pro! Enhance your senses and tasting ritual to pull out the aromas and flavors in a beer. Learn how to describe all the various attributes of beer, including aroma, appearance, flavor and mouthfeel. During this journey, you will be tasting a variety of our beers.

Learn the secrets to creating the perfect match between beer and food, whether you are pairing beer with snacks or appetizers, or pairing a beer with each phase of a meal. The class will also include tips and recipe ideas for cooking with beer. And, of course, no beer and food class would be complete without sampling a variety of beer and food pairings!
Each class includes 2-hours of instruction and guided beer samplings of 6-10 beers (depending on the class) led by Co-Owner and Brewer Warren Huelsnitz.
